Out of School Club
Funfishers provides wrap around care, available before and after normal school hours, for children aged 3 to 11 years who are attending Fishergate Primary School, or local children attending our pre-school and nursery sessions.
Holiday Club is open during school holidays, and on teacher training days, for any children in York aged 9 months to 11 years.
Both are available Monday to Friday, with the exception of bank holidays, over 51 weeks a year.

Our Out of School Club provision follow the Playwork Principles to offer an enriching experience before and after school.
Breakfast Club 7:30 – 8:45am
At Breakfast Club we offer a nutritious breakfast of cereal, toast and fruit alongside milk, water and fresh juice to drink. We provide a stimulating range of resources to engage the children in effective play throughout the session. From 8:30am Fishergate Primary School children are taken to school by staff members. |
After School Club 3:00 – 6:00pm
Children are collected from Fishergate Primary School and registered before enjoying a wide range of interactive activities and resources in our free flow environment. It is a chance for children to engage with adults and friends as well as promoting a creative outlet for children to enjoy their time after school. |
Holiday Club 7:30am - 6:00pm
Holiday Club is available to any children aged 9 months to 11 years, during all school holidays and on teacher training days, with the only exceptions of bank holidays and one week when the setting closes for Christmas. We offer full or half days between 7:30am to 1pm and 1pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
During each school holiday we offer a free flow engaging environment based around weekly themes and children’s interest. We go on walks and outings around the local and wider community, and promote physical activities such as the popular ‘fun on wheels days’ where children can bring their own cycles and scooters (with helmets) to have fun in the playground. A full itinerary of the up and coming holiday sessions is always provided on the Famly app for parents and carers, and our Facebook page.
Breakfast is provided between 8:30am-9:15am, a freshly cooked lunch at 12:00pm and afternoon snack at 3:30pm. All of these meals are home cooked and prepared by our resident cook, Carol. Mealtimes is an important part within the day at holiday club, giving the children a time to sit, socialise, and communicate with their friends and adults.
